This bicycle was designed by London-based architect Andy Martin. What makes it special is the bike was crafted completely from beech wood, which has been steamed and bent, using Thonet’s steam bending process was originally developed in the 1930s to make chairs.

According to the designer, the body’s contours were cut and adjusted using a CNC machine, then reinforced with a collection of connectors and spring rods made by the designer. Read the rest of this entry »
