2014 Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive which shown as a concept car last year at Paris now finally has made its debut, in production trim, at the 2013 New York Auto Show, and it is set to be officially launched first in the USA at the beginning of 2014.
The B-Class Electric Drive is the Mercedes-Benz’s first battery-electric car. It based on the Mercedes-Benz B-Class gasoline/ diesel version which exclusively made for European market, but it sports a new electric motor powered by a 28 kWh lithium-ion battery – which is located under the floor – insted of B-Class’s petrol or diesel engine. Toyota i-Road Personal Mobility Vehicle
Toyota has unveiled its new battery-powered electric mobility vehicle, the i-Road, this week at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
Measuring 7.7 feet long x 5.7 feet tall x 2.8 feet wide and with a wheelbase of just 67 inches, this two-seat, three-wheeled personal mobility vehicle offers greater flexibility with cost-effective mode in an urban environment. The Toyota i-ROAD weighs just over 660 pounds.
The Toyota i-ROAD is powered by Toyota’s 2kW (2.7hp) electric motors (each is mounted within the front wheels) that have a 30-mile range on a single charge and a top speed of 28 mph. Rinspeed microMAX Tiny Electric Bus
Rinspeed revealed images, video, and some details of its new microMAX electric vehicle ahead of its public debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March.
The microMAX is commuter vehicle concept merges public and personal transportation. Measuring at 3.7 meters long and 2.2 meters tall, and comes with rectangle shape, the Rinspeed microMAX looks like a tiny bus. Read the rest of this entry »
Gogreen with the Volkswagen XL1
Volkswagen is preparing to unveils its “a spectacular appearance – a car of the future, built for today,” Volkswagen XL1 at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in this March. The first production batch of the XL1 will be limited to 50 units only.
The long-waiting 2014 Volkswagen XL1 was first introduced way back in 2002 as the 1-Litre concept vehicle. The has futuristic exterior design with awesome gullwing doors which remains identical to the 2009 L1 concept unveiled at the 2011 Qatar Motor Show.
The German automaker claims the XL1 the most aerodynamic production car ever. It features a one-piece monocell RTM carbonfibre tub that comes with carbonfibre panels similiar to the one on the McLaren P1, making it capable to deliver an outstanding drag coefficient of only 0.186. The car also gets a narrowed rear-end, and futuristic wheel covers over the rear wheels. Read the rest of this entry »
