2013 Smart Fortwo Electric Drive Coming to US for $25,000
Smart has announced U.S pricing for the 2013 Smart Fortwo Electric Drive. Starting at $25,000 (coupe), this new zero-emission electric drive become the most affordable production electric vehicle in the U.S. The convertible version will be priced from $28,000. Those prices don’t even include the available $7,500 federal tax credit.
As quick review, the ForTwo Electric Drive boasts an electric motor (powered by a 17.6 kWh lithium-ion battery) that delivers 75 HP (55 kW) and 130 Nm (96 lb-ft) of torque. The Electric Drive accelerates from 0-62 mph in 11.5 seconds and has a top speed of 75 mph. According to Smart, its the ForTwo’s 17.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack returns 90 miles per single charge.
Both models will hit the U.S. dealerships in the spring of 2013.
