Rimac Concept One Electric Hypercar
Rimac Concept One Electric Hypercar
Rimac Concept One was first unveiled at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show and has been on display at the 2012 Top Marques Monaco. And now the Croatian-based Company Rimac Automobili has announced that its electric hypercar, Rimac Concept One, will be making its UK debut at the Salon Prive supercar show event that will be held on the 6th-7th September in London’s Syon Park.
The Rimac Concept One has an electric motor for each wheel that delivers a total output of 1,088 horsepower and 3,800 Nm (3,802 lb-ft) of torque, enabling the hypercar to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and hit an electronically limited top speed of 305 km/h (195 mph). According to Rimac, each motor can independently and accelerate and decelerate hundreds of times per second for optimal driving dynamics. Rimac calls it as All-Wheel Torque Vectoring (AWTV).
Its four electric motors are powered by a 92kWh battery pack. On single charge, the Rimac Concept One has a range of 600 km on a single charge (373 miles).
The 24-year old Mate Rimac, chief executive of Rimac Automobil explains:
We started with a blank sheet of paper. The idea was to create an exceptional supercar with a new propulsion concept. What we have here is a fully-fledged hypercar that is as powerful as a Bugatti, as stylish as a Ferrari, and as luxurious as a Mercedes, all while managing to forsake even the tiniest sip of gasoline
The carbon-fiber body of Rimac Concept One is designed by Adriano Mudri, while its levish interior is designed by Pininfarina and Bulgarian leatherworks Vilner.
Production of this electric hypercar is limited to 88 units, with a price tag around $980,000 USD (€740,000)
