Bridgestone’s Airless Tires
Bridgestone's Airless Tires
These Airless Tires have been unvieled by developer, Bridgestone, at the Tokyo Auto Show in Japan. This 9-inch wheels concept is supported by a mesh of spokes that are made of thermoplastic resin, which is flexible, durable and 100% recyclable. According to Bridgestone, the thermoplastic resin can be recycled back into new tires.
The design of the tires is very solid, strong enough to support about 150kg, air-free and consequently can’t be punctured- make them safer than conventional pneumatic tires.
The Bridgestone’s air-free tires is still in the testing. The Company keep evaluate and develop the tires’ performance on a small one-seat electric vehicle before making them available to the general public.
