Schwinn Vestige Bike is built from natural, biodegradable flax fibers and coated with water soluble paint. The world’s first flax fiber bike has won a 2010 Eurobike Gold Award for innovative design and is an innovative product to enhance urban mobility.

Painted with water soluble paint, the entire bike frame is made of 80% biodegradable flax, which provides similar performance benefits as a carbon fiber frame. Schwinn Vestige Bike features translucent tube which illuminated by the Vestige’s internal lighting system. The frame lighting system no need a battery, it is by the front hub dynamo.
Other faeatrues include fenders and grips which made of a natural bamboo material, 9-speed Shimano drive train and the bike’s tires also include a unique recycled insert, made by Schwalbe.
The “retro look” bike comes in men’s and women’s styles and will sell for MRSP $1470 from Schwinn dealers around the U.S. -quantities are limited.
